Our founder

Al lockett


Al Lockett is an educator with over 25 years' experience as an instructor, school turnaround specialist, performance evaluator, educational technologist, instructional designer, curriculum designer, and developer of after school programs. He is a published researcher in technology-based mastery learning for low-performing students. Al Lockett is the Founder of FEED First USA, a non-profit, community based organization with a mission to affect positive educational and social outcomes in low social-economic communities. The acronym FEED stands for Food, Enrichment, and Educational Development. The company provides food and educational support to underserved at-risk populations 18 years of age and younger and reflects his belief that if you feed a child a meal, you feed them for a day, but if you also teach them to read, you empower them for a life time.

His companies, Academic Performance Group, (formally Academic School Turnaround), Learning4Today and Quality Afterschool Programs has helped some of the lowest performing students in 14 states to advance from low performing to high achieving. His vision for eliminating the culture of low performance and closing the achievement gap is driven by a philosophy that, "every child can learn if given the right tools, proper instruction and enough time".

Mr. Lockett is the developer of the One2One™ Mastery instructional methodology and continues to refine and develop technology-integrated instructional solutions that build basic skills, facilitate the transfer of learning and accelerate academic performance in low-performing students. His intensive instructional method, One2One Mastery™ supported Eudora Primary School in Eudora, AR in its growth from a school with less than 20% of the 3 rd grade students scoring proficient in reading and math to a remarkable 97% proficiency in reading and 100% proficiency in math on the state Benchmark exam. Lakeside-Eudora won 4 of the state's top Outstanding Education Performance awards from the Office of

Educational Policy (OEP) University of Arkansas, in 2010.

Mr. Lockett holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, a Master of Education in Instructional Technology and currently completing his dissertation for a Ph.D. in Educational Technology.
